Stuttgart and the wine
There were times when it should have been on the Neckar more wine than water. So it stands in the annals of Baden-Württemberg's state capital. 500 years ago, Duke Ulrich has filled for his wedding, even the fountain in front of the castle with wine - much to the delight of his subjects.
A large wine-growing tradition in Stuttgart exists since more than 1000 years. On the slopes of the middle Neckar, the white and red grapes appear to be very good. Nevertheless, the wine from Wurttemberg, was for years a secret. He was found only rarely outside of Württemberg. For Württembergers drink their favorite wine themselves - even today only a fraction of the products are found outside the country.
Our house is dedicated to the regional specialties. The Stuttgart wineries do not need to hide in an international comparison - so we offer exclusively local wines.

Riesling
Riesling produces elegant wines of rich character with an incomparable fragrance and taste, often reminiscent of peaches, or when young, apples. It is Germany`s most important and best known white wine variety.
Weißburgunder
Weissburgunder, also called Pinot Blanc, is an elegant white wine. The drier style wines are extremely popular with food. Weissburgunder wines have a less pronounced, relatively neutral bouquet if compared to Riesling. It is a perfect wine for the summer time.
Silvaner
Silvaner supplies rather neutral wine with mild acidity, savory versions are also strong regional cuisine and fine wine menu. Silvaner is diversity. An uncomplicated summer wine, a supple, creamy oak wine, a well-developed, elegant and lively Large plant or an intense long lasting Natural sweet. Everything is possible. The variety combines the earthy tones with delicate fruity aromas and acid digestible.
Schillerwein
Schillerwein is a speciality in Württemberg. It is produced from red an white grapes. However, they have to be blended already before pressing. The color is therefore similar to Rosé wines. Schillerwein is usually very fruity and thus chilled a popular summer wine.
Weißherbst
Weissherbst is exclusively made of red grapes. They are only allowed to be from one variety. Yet, they are pressed early after harvest to remain lighter in color than red wines. Weissherbst is always drunk chilled.
Trollinger
Trollinger is the most important red wine variety in the Württemberg area. It produces red wines which are often lighter in tannins and color and develop fruity characters. It perfectly matchs with solid swabian food like steak with sauted onions or game. And at summer temperatures, it is also a stimulating drinking pleasure when slightly chilled.
Lemberger
Lemberger wines are often extremely dark in color. The bouquet of this red wine is rather powerful, reminiscent of blackberries, sweet or sour cherries or plums. The wines have sometimes a tannic accent and a long finish. Lemberger wines have a good aging potential. Barrique-aging adds another dimension reminiscent of Mediterranean warmth and charm.
Dornfelder
Dornfelder is a red wine with very dark color. The fragrant, full-bodied, complex wines show often a fairly tannic acidity which makes them very harmonic. Fruit characteristics like sour cherries or elder are typical for these wines.
